Full Professor of \u201cAnalytical Chemistry\u201d from academic year 1980\/81 to 2002-2003, and of Environmental and Cultural Heritage Chemistry thereafter. Holder of the chair of Agricultural Chemistry and then \u201cSoil Chemistry\u201d from 1994\/95 to date, of \u201cRestoration Chemistry\u201d from 1998\/99 to date and of Food Chemistry (Faculty of Pharmacy) from 2003-2004, at the University of Rome \u201cLa Sapienza\u201d.

In particular, he has prepared, characterised and applied numerous biosensors based on immobilised enzymes or plant tissues to determine substances of clinical, pharmaceutical and environmental interest and to date cellulose-based archaeological finds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He has also studied the application of chemical and biological methods to the degradation and removal of pollutants (surfactants, hydrocarbons, pesticides, heavy metals) in civil and industrial effluents.
He has participated in over 500 National and International Congresses.
